Booster Pump for 50/75G RO Units

Suitable for any brand of RO Unit - This pump will significantly increase the volume of water from your unit and will also increase the water quality.

You find generally that RO units will produce about 50% of their stated membrane capacity on average as the temperature and pressure of UK mains water is never as high as the standard parameters used for membrane flow specification. By boosting the pressure with one of these units you tend to get the full stated membrane volume - summer or winter.

The increased pressure also improves the quality of the water through the membrane. These units utilise a transformer to run at low voltage and are suitable for 1/4 inch RO Pipe.

Suitability

This pump is only suitable for membranes of 50-90 USG due to the flow rate of the pump and depending on the efficiency of the membrane/water temperature.

CALCULATION

1.2 lts/min = 1728 lt/day = 455 USG/day

Flow rate must account for both collected and rejected water volumes through the RO unit.

If 4:1 reject rate = 455/5 = 91 USG
if 5:1 reject rate = 455/6 = 76 USG

We recommend that the pump is not used with any membrane over 100 USG/day as it will reduce the flow rate to the RO and will reduce the efficiency.

The pressure of 125PSI is the maximum pressure that the pump can produce when restricted however the larger the membrane the easier the water will flow and the less pressure will be produced.

Caution

NEVER DEAD HEAD THE PUMP FOR ANY TIME AGAINST A CLOSED SOLENOID OR CLOSED SHUT OFF VALVE AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE DIAPHRAGM. IF THIS DOES HAPPEN, THEN A REPLACEMENT HEAD IS AVAILABLE.
